Plast it back
Plast it Back aims to raise awareness about the issue of plastic waste. The project is technical (manufacturing of recycled plastic products) and educational (awareness – reducing and sorting waste).
Our process
We collaborate with SV labs to collect their waste plastic and turn it into products that can be used on the EPFL campus. The possibilities are endless: from daily-use items to furniture.
On the other hand, we also want to explain the logistical and technical challenges of plastic waste management and allow a better understanding of the topic to a wide audience.
Our achievement
This year, we successfully manufactured a bit more than 400 medals for the Polysports, a student sports competition.
As of now, we are planning to create a plastic recycling system on campus and collaborating with various entities of EPFL to do so (SV Sustainability, EPFL Sustainability, SKIL, …).
